The LG Snowboard FIS World Cup Halfpipe

Cardrona's 22ft Olympic standard half pipe has been given great wraps by competitors in recent years. The halfpipe competition takes place in a half-cylinder-shaped course dug deep into the hill. Using speed gained on the slope, snowboarders come up over the rim of the pipe and perform acrobatic aerial tricks. The object of the halfpipe is to perform difficult tricks with perfect form.

 


Snowboard Half Pipe Qualifier

Snowboard Big Air
Wed, 24th August - Cardrona

Riders perform tricks after launching off a massive jump in front of the base building at Cardrona. Competitors perform tricks in the air, aiming to attain maximum height and difficulty, all while securing a clean landing.

Dual sanctioned by FIS at Continental Cup level and TTR at 3 Star level.


Snowboard Slopestyle
Sun, 21st August - Snow Park

Competitors perform tricks while descending the new slopestyle course at Snow Park moving around, over, across, or down terrain features. The course is full of obstacles of varying technical difficulty including boxes, rails, jumps and jibs.

Dual sanctioned by FIS at Continental Cup level and TTR at 3 Star level.


Snowboard Cross
Fri, 19th August - Cardrona

Competitors race in groups of four with the top two going onto the next round. The course consists of a combination of jumps, turns and other terrain features. It is high speed and guarantees lots of thrills and spills!

Adaptive Snowboard Cross World Cup
Thu, 18th August - Cardrona

WSF Para-Snowboard World Cup

Similar course to the able bodied event but instead of racing in groups, competitors have three single time trials with best run counting.
